Buy-side advisory to Auchan in its acquisition of hypermarket chain in Russia

ENKA is the largest construction company in Turkey and ranked among the ENR’s Top International Contractors since 1981. Records show that, thus far, ENKA were awarded +100 projects with a total contract value of US $ 5 billion in Turkey and 300+ projects with a total contract value of US $ 35 billion abroad.

Auchan has a turnover of more than 36 billion Euros, operating with hypermarkets and supermarkets in more than 12 countries, including France, China, Taiwan, Italy, Spain, Poland, Russia, Romania, Luxembourg, Hungary, and Ukraine. Auchan has 468 hypermarkets, most of which are named Auchan, and about 2,30 supermarkets, 727 of which are its own, such as Atac, Simply Market, Easymarche, Fredi, Sma, Cityper, Punto Sma, A-tak, Sabeco. The company has around 160,000 employees, including its banking activities.

Auchan acquired from Turkish construction-to-energy firm Enka Insaat the operation rights to 14 Turkish-controlled Ramstore hypermarkets in Russia. Under the terms of the agreement, Auchan will lease 13 hypermarkets and own one. Nine of the hypermarkets are located in Moscow.
